Recap: Overall, a very nice pitching performance from SP Bobby Doran (6.1 IP; 4 H; 3 ER; 2 BB; 4 SO) and closer Chad Bettis (2.2 IP; 0 H; 1 R; 0 ER; 2 BB; 4 SO) picked up his 5th save of the year. It was C Jeremy Mayo (2-4; 3 R; 2 HR; 2 RBI), LF Michael Reed (2-4; 1 R; 2 RBI) and RF Hough Bonham (2-4) that got the offense going, especially Mayo who had 2 home runs yesterday.
LAJ's George Watson recaps the game and also says that Jay Johnson will get the start:
Jeremy Mayo homered twice, and Bobby Doran and Chad Bettis combined to hold Oklahoma State to just four hits, allowing Texas Tech to even its Big 12 Conference series with Oklahoma State with a 5-4 victory over the Cowboys Saturday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium."It was outstanding, it really was," head coach Dan Spencer said. "(Doran) pitched his tail off in a tough yard to pitch in. The park is tiny, the wind is blowing out, and (OSU) is good. I thought we did a great job, outstanding."
