Texas Tech Football

Cathey's Gone, Sesay Unlikely to Return:  LAJ's Don Williams had a short story yesterday where he confirmed that freshman DT Romario Cathey would not be with this year's team and the return of DE Brandon Sesay would be entirely up to him, but it looked unlikely:

"I can’t comment on the eligibility thing, but he hasn’t been declared eligible,’’ Leach said. "His problems are for him to solve, and so the door’s not closed, but I’m not optimistic.’’

Leach also said, "The only players we’re concerned with are those that we’ve been coaching since the beginning of camp.’’

One Game at a Time:  FWST's Dwain Price writes that the Red Raiders are willing to earn respect one game at a time and WR Detron Lewis is leading that charge:

"This year we’re going to have to earn our respect each and every week, because it’s not being given to us like it was last year," receiver Detron Lewis said. "The top guys we had last year — Crab and Graham — they earned that respect, but they didn’t make the whole team.

"We couldn’t stick those two on the field and win the game. But this year we’re just going to have to earn the respect, and we’re all just looking forward to that."

Corker Profile:  Miami Herald's Evan Drexler profiles Texas Tech commitment Shawn Corker.  It's a good read and you get to know Corker a little more.

Cobb Brothers:  Texas Tech has been fairly successful in recruiting various brothers to Texas Tech, the Charbonnet's and the Rowland's off the top of my head, but freshman S Daniel Cobb has a little brother, David, who just ran for 293 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries. He's only a junior, but this is certainly something to watch.
