This looked like a pretty tough game for the Red Raiders, although it was fairly competitive for much of the 6-0 loss to the Sooners (recap). Starter Brian Cloud (4.2 IP; 9 H; 5 ER; 3 BB; 3 SO) wasn't awful and he kept the game within striking distance, while relievers Cory Large (2.0 IP; 4 H; 1 ER; 0 BB; 1 SO) and Kellen Monreal (1.1 IP; 0 H; 0 ER; 1 BB; 0 SO) continued to keep it close. The offense, however, just couldn't get anything to fall against OU's Andrew Doyle, managing only 7 hits for the night, three of those coming from Scott LeJeune (3-4) and two from Jeremy Mayo (2-3).
Also, because of possible inclement weather on Sunday, that game has been moved to today and there will be a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m. today with third and final game of the series to start after the completion of the first game.
