Preview:

LAJ's Jeff Walker looks at today's game against Iowa State and both teams are vying for the 10th spot in the Big 12 tournament. It's not much of a preview (see my spectacular preview above and below) as it talks a bit about Wednesday's win and ISU's defense, which you can see above their KenPom rankings are pretty good defensively, but are awful offensively.

Keys to the Game:

  1. Do Unto Others: It's senior day for Iowa State, sound familiar? The Red Raiders need to be very aware of the possibility of the exact same thing that happened to Kansas (i.e. a drubbing) can happen to Texas Tech. Iowa State is going to be motivated, just like any team would be.
  2. Who Stops Brackins: There's going to be a matchup problem with Brackins because he's so danged long and tall, I don't see Prince staying with him the entire game because of that length. I could see Roberts getting quite a bit of time in this game and Singletary may struggle to find minutes because of the size of ISU's frontcourt.
  3. Guard Dominance: This is one of those why-the-hell-not arguments, which is just let Voskuil and Okorie shoot all damn day. Both guys are shooting lights out recently and I think Texas Tech's best chance at winning this game is to let these guys shoot.

GO RAIDERS . . .

*Stats can be found at Ken Pomeroy: K.P. Rank = the Ken Pomeroy Rank; Offensive Efficiency = the national rank in terms of points scored per 100 possessions; Defensive Efficiency = the national rank in terms of points allowed per 100 possession. Numbers in parentheses are national rank.
