Texas Tech Sunday Morning Notes - More Responsive Edition

Texas Tech Football:

LAJ's Don Williams is back and ready for some football and Captain Leach likes his group of kids:

"This group in particular, they're more responsive to what we tell them,'' Leach said. "They're one of the more coachable groups, so that part's exciting.''

There are a ton of things I could blockquote here, but my advice is to just go read the whole thing. Lots of little notes, including injury updates and who is battling who in position battles.

Practices start tomorrow and just like the rest of you, I can't wait, it's almost here. I'm posting the depth charts in table form this morning.

Texas Tech Basketball:

Former Red Raider John Plefka is pitching minor league ball for the Orem Owlz and Ryan Comer of the Desert News talks with Plefka about his experiences playing for Bob Knight:

"It was just a great experience," Plefka said. "It's something I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. If I could do it again, I'd do it every single time. It was probably the hardest 2 1/2 years of my life, but I think I've become a better person and just a better player through his work ethic." Plefka can recall numerous lessons Knight taught him, but one that really stands out is the importance of staying disciplined in all situations.

"Every game counts," Plefka said. "You've got to play every game 100 percent. You never know what will happen at the end of the year, and if you struggle one game you might not make the tournament. You've got to take every game seriously."

Think a good thought for Plefka as he finishes out the season.
