A huge congratulations to Coach Larry Hays who notched career victory #1,500 in Texas Tech's 10-5 win over Texas A&M Corpus-Christi. So much to get to this morning, but let's get to the game first. Cory Larged pitched 4.0 innings, giving up 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned, walking 3 and striking out 3. As mentioned above, reliever Lorenzo Douglas picked up the win in 3.0 innings of relieve giving up 3 hits, 1 run, walking 2 and striking out 1. Sam Janca and Robert Kilcrease also each pitched an inning with Kilcrease only giving up a run.

The offense was led by Tanner Rindels, who hit his 3rd home run of the year, going 1-3 with 2 RBI. Chris Hall was 1-4 with 3 RBI, while Taylor Ashby went 2-4 with 2 RBI.

Now onto Coach Hays. LAJ's George Watson recaps yesterday's game and has a number of quotes from Coach Hays. Here's Hays:

"They're all the same," Hays said. "I'm excited about this one like I was about the one (Tuesday) and the thing is I'm worried about the next one. Just because there's a number on them doesn't mean anything.

"I'm lucky to be able to come to the park every day. I'm a grateful person and really appreciate the opportunity just to do things like this. Every game is special to me and they're all the same."

The LAJ takes a look at some of the coaching milestones in Coach Hays' career.

LAJ's Jeff Walker writes about how Coach Hays has spent almost his entire baseball life, 38 years, in Lubbock. This is good work, go read the whole thing.

Fox34 has highlights from last night's game and an interview with Coach Hays.

Nebraska is up next and LAJ's George Watson takes a look at the Cornhuskers. Also make sure and check out Corn Nation's cool graphical interface for Big 12 pitching and batting.
