Texas Tech Monday Morning Football Notes -- Some Rough Spots Edition

Texas Tech Football:

I don't know if anyone else is having any problems, but what I thought was the new destination for the LAJ's Texas Tech coverage, hasn't been updated since Saturday morning, for any Texas Tech sports, but if you go to the LAJ's Red Raiders page, it has the updated baseball victory, but nothing else. Also, my RSS reader hasn't had a story show up since Saturday morning, for any sport. Not real sure what's going on, but if you guys find any articles, then post them in the comments.

Luckily, we have a couple of news outlets this morning. First up, ESPN's Tim Griffin has his Big 12 Roundup, with a bit on Leach being fairly concerned about the kicking situation, and rightfully so. Here's Leach:

"I am concerned about this, because it takes time to break a kicker in," Leach said. "I think we've got good people to work with at the position, but it is kind of a concern."

As we all know, Leach signed Donnie Carona this past recruiting class, and he has a cannon for a leg, but this is the wrong year to have a guy struggle with field goals and I hope this doesn't come back to haunt the Red Raiders.

FoxSports' Pete Fiutak answers a question submitted by a reader on the Red Raiders.

DT's Alex Ybarra sums up the Red-Black Scrimmage, and as noted yesterday, as today, Leach scrimmages again today. Ruffin McNeill on the defense's performance:

"I was pleased; there were some rough spots in there," defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill said. "Our offense is hard to stop, we don't try to scheme our guys. I was pleased with the progress, I was pleased with the efforts of the kids, I was pleased with the fact that sometimes we had some adversity hit, and we battled through that."

DT's Adam Coleman focuses on the guys who experienced the scrimmage for the first time. Here's McNeill on McKinner Dixon:

"I'm glad he's here," McNeill said. "He'll be an impact guy for us, I think, next year. He's got a great mentality, and his mindset is what we want. I'm looking forward to seeing him progress ... in the offseason, summer and two-a-days."

Fox34 has a number of videos posted. First, they have extended clips of Saturday's scrimmage, as well as Drew Dougherty and Chris Level talk about the inspired play of the defense. Last but not least, the focus is going to be on today to accomplish some last items before the end of the spring.
