Man, this is a kick in the ass. This time it wasn't just the starter that was the problem, it was almost the entire bullpen too as the Red Raiders lost to to UNLV, 15-8. Starter Cory Large lasted only 1.1 inning, giving up 4 hits, 7 runs, all earned, 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Check out this series of events from the 2nd inning:

As noted above, the Red Raiders were able to get 8 runs off of 11 hits, but when you can't get anyone out, it's a big problem. Willie Rueda, Roger Kieschnick, Chris Richburt and Jason Seefeld each had 2 hits leading the offense and Seefeld had 3 RBI.

LAJ's George Watson previews this weekend's series with Kansas State and talks about the inconsistent Wildcats, although I cannot imagine that any team is more inconsistent in it's play right now than Texas Tech.

The series is in Lubbock this weekend, so go give the team your support, they need a couple of wins in a bad way.
