LAJ's George Watson previews this weekend's series against Kansas, in Lawrence, and also considers that the most difficult part of the schedule may be behind the Red Raiders. Let's hope so. Kansas is only 1-8 in the conference and the Red Raiders could really use a series win, as well as some good performances from all three starters. Here's Hays:
"We're going to approach this weekend like we do every one," Hays said. "We're playing another Big 12 team and that carries with it all the concerns you have every week. Kansas is a dangerous team and they're scrambling right now trying some different things. We're going to be ready like we normally are."
Watson also notes that a series win against Kansas would put the Red Raiders back on track to getting to the Big 12 Tournament:
A series win this weekend would get Tech back on the right track toward qualifying for the Big 12 Tournament. The Red Raiders (17-16 overall) are either two games behind or two games ahead of all five of their remaining conference opponents, meaning they can make some headway toward getting back into the race for a top five finish in the Big 12 standings with a series win this weekend.
