Big 12 Tournament - Round 1

v.

Game 2: No. 5 Baylor v. No. 12 Colorado (2:90 p.m. ESPN Plus)

Probable Starting Lineups:

Baylor Ht. Wt. Pos. Yr. PPG RPG APG
Curtis Jerrells 6-1 200 G Jr. 14.8 3.5 3.6
Henry Dugat 6-0 170 G Jr. 11.9 4.0 1.7
Tweety Carter 5-10 180 G So. 9.4 1.8 2.9
Kevin Rogers 6-9 240 F Jr. 12.5 8.5 0.7
Mark Shepherd 6-9 220 F Sr. 1.6 2.3 0.3
Colorado Ht. Wt. Pos. Yr. PPG RPG APG
Marcus Hall 6-2 175 G Sr. 13.7 4.0 3.9
Cory Higgins 6-5 175 G Fr. 8.2 4.0 2.3
Jermyl Jackson-Wilson 6-6 220 G Jr. 4.8 4.3 1.0
Richard Roby 6-6 200 G Sr. 16.5 6.4 2.1
Marcus King-Stockton 6-9 245 F Sr. 2.5 3.2 0.6

What I Think: If Colorado has any chance Roby is going to have to come to class. He's been good all year, but not dominating. Give me this very deep Baylor squad. They are primed for a deep run in this tournament, especially if they can have 2 of Jerrells, Dugat, Carger or Dunn get hot. Not to mention, I love watching Kevin Rogers dunk.

Prediction: The Bears throttle Colorado. This one isn't going to be much of a contest.

v.

Game 3: No. 7 Nebraska v. No. 10 Missouri (6:00 p.m. ESPN Plus)

Probable Starting Lineups:

Nebraska Ht. Wt. Pos. Yr. PPG RPG APG
Cookie Mller 5-7 165 G Fr. 6.6 2.1 4.0
Steve Harley 5-11 170 G Jr. 9.2 2.6 1.6
Ade Dagunduro 6-5 190 G Jr. 8.3 3.7 1.6
Ryan Anderson 6-4 200 G So. 8.8 5.4 1.7
Aleks Maric 6-11 275 C Sr. 16.0 10.2 1.8
Missouri Ht. Wt. Pos. Yr. PPG RPG APG
Keon Lawrence 6-2 175 G So. 10.9 3.4 2.4
J.T. Tiller 6-3 187 G So. 7.0 2.2 1.8
Matt Lawrence 6-7 203 F Jr. 8.7 3.0 0.8
Leon Lyons 6-9 240 F Jr. 13.3 5.7 1.6
DeMarre Carroll 6-8 225 F Jr. 13.1 6.6 1.3

What I Think: I love Lyons and think he's capable of doing some damage against Nebraska. The problem with Missouri, as with most teams, is that they don't have the huge center who can match up with Maric. I still like Missouri's size overall and their talent.

Prediction: I really don't have a good reason, but I believe in Missouri. I'm not sure why, but I think they'll be able to get it done against a surging Nebraska team. First upset of the tournament.

v.

Game 4: No. 6 Texas A&M v. No. 11 Iowa State (8:30 p.m. ESPN2)

Probable Starting Lineups:

TAMU Ht. Wt. Pos. Yr. PPG RPG APG
Dominique Kirk 6-4 185 G Sr. 8.1 3.5 3.5
Donald Sloan 6-3 205 G So. 9.9 3.9 3.1
Josh Carter 6-7 200 F Jr. 12.5 4.1 1.5
Joseph Jones 6-9 255 F Sr. 10.6 5.2 1.3
DeAndre Jordan 7-0 255 C Fr. 8.7 6.6 0.4
Iowa State Ht. Wt. Pos. Yr. PPG RPG APG
Bryan Peterson 6-1 180 G Jr. 5.6 2.1 2.9
Wesley Johnson 6-7 195 G So. 12.5 3.9 1.5
Rashon Clark 6-6 210 G Sr. 8.5 6.1 1.0
Craig Brackins 6-10 230 F Fr. 11.2 4.8 1.3
Jiri Hubalek 6-11 225 C Sr. 12.8 7.5 0.9

What I Think: I don't trust the Aggies. I don't trust them to shoot well over the course of a tournament. They are going to shoot themselves out of a game at some time. Despite their shooting woes, the Ags are still very talented, but just aren't consistent enough to get it done. After watching Hubalek and Brackins against Texas Tech, they are both talented players, especially Brackins. The Cyclones match up well against the Aggies.

Prediction: I'm tempted to take another upset, but give me the Ags. They've got too much talent on the team to not win their first game.
