Texas Tech Sunday Morning Notes - They Bump Me Edition

Double-T Nation News:

Not a lot of time to celebrate yesterday's win against Iowa State, especially with games at TAMU, UT, at Kansas and Baylor all up next. That's a tough road.

Texas Tech Basketball:

LAJ's Jeff Walker reviews yesterday's win against the Cyclones, noting that it was the constant movement by Voskuil and Zeno that helped garner the win. Here's Voskuil on moving to get open:

"The second half there, I was getting fouled and getting to the free-throw line just coming off cuts and stuff," Voskuil said. "If I just keep moving and running into them, they're eventually going to hold me. I think it works to our advantage that they bump me and push me."

Martin Zeno also had a huge part in yesterday's win with 9 free throws and also noted the early missed free throws:

"Usually, when it comes down to it, if you make your free throws you'll win the game," said Tech guard Martin Zeno, who finished with a game-high 23 points and was 9 of 11 from the line. "We missed a couple that we should have made, but when it came down to it we knocked down the ones that helped us win it."

PK also praised the work of Trevor Cook who finished the day with 11 points and 8 boards and really seemed to stretch the defense with his outside shooting:

"As long as he's playing well we'll use him a lot because he brings a lot of attention from an offensive standpoint," Knight said. "... He's come up big in a lot of our big wins, it's just been our losses where he hasn't played well. We've just got to keep him going."

Texas Tech Baseball:

The Red Raiders were 1-hit yesterday by ULL's Hunter Moody and Matt Broussard, that hit coming from Taylor Ashby. Here's the official boxscore. Perhaps the best part about yesterday's game is Ramos' 10 strikeouts in 6 innings with 0 walks. Huge improvement from last year. Hyatt wrote about yesterday's loss and noted that Ramos pounded the strike zone all day long. LAJ's George Watson reviews yesterday's 4-0 defeat.

Here's today's two pitching matchup:
