There’s now just 33 days till the start of the season for the Red Raiders and only 3 short days until the Red Raiders hit the practice field for fall camp. So today, we will be talking about our number 33, Brayden Stringer.
Stringer is a 6’2” linebacker out of Cypress, Texas. He is a junior and will be looking to make an impact on this linebacker corps and also on special teams as he did last year. He was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and chose Tech over a host of Power 5 schools including Oklahoma State, Arizona, and Wisconsin.
Stringer had a very good freshman campaign for the Red Raiders, as he appeared in 11 games in 2016 at linebacker and on special teams. He had a season high in tackles with 5 against the Kansas Jayhawks. Stringer was looking to make a larger impact his sophomore season but with the rise of freshman linebacker Riko Jeffers, Stringer’s playing time at the position was cut down and he mainly played on special teams.
Stringer originally decided to transfer from the school in April with a message on his Twitter page. The good news for Red Raider Nation is that Stringer along with running back Demarcus Felton, who also was going to transfer, decided to stay with the program for the upcoming season. I believe that we will see Stringer playing at the linebacker spot much more than we did last year.
