Defensive back Neiman Armstrong committed to Texas Tech this evening per his twitter account. He makes Tech's fifth verbal commitment as the only defensive commit joining 4 offensive commits.
He is a 2-star recruit according to Rivals and unrated by 247 and Scout. He has good size at 6'1 and 180 pounds. The biggest part of his commitment is that he will be playing for DeSoto next season. This school pumps out D1 kids as fast as any school in the state. Since 2010, this team has averaged about 7 D1 athletes per year. That is pretty salty. The 2016 and 2017 classes look like they that will continue that trend. I wish Tech could build a pipeline straight from Lubbock to DeSoto High School's front door. It is also worth noting that former 2016 Tech commit, Tristen Wallace plays for DeSoto.
Look for this Thursday's Recruiting Recap by Drew. He will breakdown game film on Neiman and let you know where he sees him fitting into the Tech defense. His film is below for your viewing pleasure. These are last year's highlights when he was part of the Dallas Carter football team. He transferred to Desoto High School after the season.
