Things were looking rough for the Texas Tech baseball team until they picked up two straight wins this weekend. Tech went 2-2 on the week and won the series against Kansas. They did drop one spot to #19 in the Baseball America rankings but remain ranked as they have all year long. The team heads to Albuquerque to take on New Mexico for a game then comes back to Lubbock to play host to TCU. TCU is ranked #5 in the Baseball America rankings and have only lost four games on the year. The softball team has lost five straight and looks to turn things around in Waco this week. Baylor is 10-1 in their last 11 games so things are't going to be easy. According to the NCAA softball rankings, Baylor sits right outside the top 25 at #29.

New Mexico snuck out a midweek upset against Texas Tech last week in what ended up being a really good game. New Mexico lead most of the game and Tech mounted a mini comeback but fell short. Hopefully Tech will head into New Mexico's house to return the favor of a home loss to them. Fifth ranked TCU comes to town for a 3-game series this week in what should be a very good matchup. Both TCU and Texas Tech played in the College World Series last year and this will be a great test for both squads early in conference play. We will again be playing on TV so if you get the chance make sure you tune in.
Softball
Texas Tech (16-20, 0-3) at #29 Baylor (24-7, 2-1), 4/2-4/4
TV: FSSW+, 4/2 at Baylor 6:30PM CST, 4/3 at Baylor 6:30PM CST, 4/4 at Baylor 12:00PM CST
The Lady Raiders are on a 5-game skid thanks to two stellar squads, Washington and Oklahoma, and things won't be getting much easier this week when they face Baylor. The Lady Bears are ranked #29 and have been playing lights out here lately. If Tech can travel down to Waco and win the series it could be a signature series win to turn the season around. If they go down there and get swept it could be the type of thing that puts almost all hope of a postseason birth to rest. On a bright note, our Lady Raiders will be playing on TV for all their games. So if you have Fox Sports Southwest Plus make sure you check out our Lady Raiders in action.
