The celebration of Festivus begins with the "Airing of Grievances", which takes place immediately after the Festivus dinner has been served. It consists of each person lashing out at others and the world about how they have been disappointed in the past year.

There will be no feats of strength of Festivus miracles, but in order to be the best website that we know how to be, I think it's important to let you all have an opportunity to air your grievances when me or anyone else on the staff or the site overall or something else.
And be advised that there are some things that I won't budge on. I can be stubborn about certain things, mostly about banning folks and things like that.. Those are never easy decisions and I have to live with myself on those things and that's not always an easy thing to do.
So yes, I need you to tell me all of the things that I have disappointed you, how we can make VTM better. And this isn’t the time to tell me how VTM is awesome, that’s every day, today is the day to help me make the site better by listening to you.
I’ll start. There was a time when I thought that linking to other Texas Tech blogs was fine, but recently, it bothers me quite a bit. It bothers me more than anything else because they never reciprocate. Or hardly ever reciprocate. Or the guys in charge don’t reciprocate. It’s like they’re so afraid to acknowledge competition or that we’re all sorta working together to bring really terrific coverage that they think by linking to anything to other than themselves, that it will hurt their business plan. I don’t know. Anyway, so I get tired of links from competing sites. I don’t have the time or inclination to make any sort of new rule or force people to stop doing this, but if I could do this, I would. I would until there’s some reciprocation. But I'm too old or tired to try to do this. Plus, I don't wan to be as petty as them.
Grievances aired.
Now, let’s do this.
