One walk-on quarterback officially leaves and another officially commits to Texas Tech. Former Texas Tech quarterback Baker Mayfield has officially enrolled in classes and he just doesn't understand why Texas Tech wants to block Mayfield from transferring to Oklahoma (via DMN):
"It doesn’t really make much sense," Mayfield told Murdock. "I walked on, paid for everything and they have the choice or decision to choose what I do or what I can’t do, which doesn’t make any sense. That’s what we’re waiting on."
While Mayfield walked on, NCAA rules allow Texas Tech to treat Mayfield in the same fashion as a scholarship athlete seeking a transfer. That means Mayfield’s former program can draft transfer restrictions.
These are the rules and I don't think I complained all that much last year when RB Charles Sims wasn't permitted to transfer to Texas Tech. It stinks, but those are the rules that have been established. When you play college football, you are subject to them.
Then, yesterday afternoon, Kilgore college quarterback Tanner Tausch committed to Texas Tech via @MattClare247 and Rivals & Scout profiles). Tausch was 154 of 261 (59%) for 2,051 yards 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. That's 7.9 yards per attempt and about 205 yards a game (via NJCAA). Tausch wasn't much of rusher, only rushing for 2 touchdowns, and I'm pretty sure that his rushing totals were negative through the year. You can watch film of Tausch on his Hudl video (via Hudl). I like his film, I think his arm strength has a few issues, and his touchdown to interception ratio isn't all that great, but I'll take it for a walk-on for a position that needs depth.

Henderson to TAMU: In a bit of a strange twist, DT Zaycoven Henderson de-committed from Texas yesterday, was thought that Texas Tech would be an option, then re-committed to Texas after talking to new Texas head coach Charlie Strong and then committed to TAMU last night (via Statesman).
Possible Series with Wyoming: Yesterday, Wyoming announced a home-and-home series with Wyoming in 2020 and 2022, but then Texas Tech announced that this was a bit premature (via LAJ). So, it's not official yet.
