Red Raider Gridiron | Wrapping up the Weekend

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Spo

Texas Tech played on Thursday night, so there's not much to discuss, but we've got a few links this Sunday morning about your Red Raiders.

What I'm Listening To: This Old 97's Playlist via the YouTube.  The Old 97's have a new song that I heard on the radio, Champaign, Illinois, that I enjoyed.

What I'm Reading: Not much this morning unless you enjoy Schadenfreude by going to BON or BC.  VTM will never catch them as long as Mack is coaching.  Too much angst and angst always gets more page views and visits than good times.  Eventually that angst changes into apathy, that's where we can catch up a bit.  Here's some stuff to read this Sunday morning:

  • The LAJ has their five key developments from Thursday night's game. Nothing ground-breaking here.
  • Also from the LAJ, we get a Don William editorial, which was a bit meh.  More of a history about how Mike Leach didn't like playing ranked teams early (which is true, but really doesn't have anything to do with this since TCU is a conference opponent and you can't avoid conference games) and Spike Dykes did, but maybe because his AD wanted him to do so.
  • Frank the Tank has a lengthy mailbag of good things about conference realignment.  One of the questions is about how the Big Ten might like to take on Oklahoma and Kansas, but won't do that because of the tag-long in-state schools in Kansas St. and Oklahoma St. Frank makes mention that there Oklahoma brings alumni that live in the DFW area and I know that there are obviously some OU and OSU alumni that live in the DFW area, but I've never thought that this was a huge number.  Would be interested how that compares to Texas Tech alumni in the DFW area, which would seemingly have to be a higher amount.
