Texas Christian v. Texas Tech | Home Game Hotspots

Tom Pennington

It's a short week, but there's much to do in the Hub City.

This week, I decided to start off with a few facts.

Texas Christian was founded in 1873.

Their School Colors are purple and white, not red and black.

This is how Marie Schrader reacted to TCU’s new uniforms.

Their mascot is the Horned Frog.

From their website:

The Horned Frog (actually a lizard) has been TCU's mascot longer than TCU has been the university's name.

A lizard is a reptile.

Here is a picture of a big purple reptile.

My first game to attend as a Tech student was the TCU game in 2004.

TCU lost to Texas Tech 70-35.

Sazon (1205 University Ave)

Nachos, fajitas, quesadillas and more... This was one of my favorites while at Tech, and it still churns out the hits with style. Sazon has expanded next door in the last few years. It’s a much larger space with great décor. Their salsa bar is a real treat and has seven homemade salsas. The Caribbean Craze is one of my favorites. My wife tried their strawberry margarita, which is made with fresh strawberries, and loved it. Give them a shot, folks!
