1. Hello again, fun | SB Nation's Bill Connelly previews your Red Raiders. Check it out!
2. Fly Fishing Off The Grid | Yesterday I ran across this preview of a film about fly fishing off the grid (hat-tip GearPatrol). I've only fly fished one time and it was one of the best things ever. We got to fish the Forbes Ranch in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. This is also known as the Trinchera Blanca Ranch and it is as gorgeous as you might think.
3. Saban Goes to Tennessee | SB Nation's Steven Godfrey was there when Alabama head coach goes into enemy territory in East Tennessee. Really terrific article.
4. Recruiting Rankings | Big 12 Recruit has their June rankings and Texas Tech is still doing okay. Again, Texas Tech and Baylor high rankings are a result of volume more than anything else, but that doesn't mean that there aren't good players there, because there are. Baylor is getting a lot of publicity, but they are essentially done, they maybe have a few more scholarships available, but Texas Tech has 12 more scholarships at the least that are still available. 247 Sports also their surprise football recruiting rankings and includes Texas Tech:
Overview- Red Raiders fans were a bit concerned last season when first-year head coach Kliff Kingsbury and staff did not finish with a bang on the recruiting trail. Those concerns have subsided as Texas Tech has assembled 13 commits that are (no surprise) heavy on talented skill players. Derrick Neal is a prospect our analysts at 247Sports love- he’s an explosive playmaker from Dallas Lincoln. Five prospects ranked among the top 100 in the state of Texas by 247Composite are included in 10 Lone Star State pledges.
5. New Campus Photos | Totally Texas Tech with some new campus photos!
6. Fundraiser for Jennie Bailey | The LAJ has details about the Texas Tech athletic community is rallying to continue to raise money for Jennie Bailey, the administrative assistant for the football program, who has cancer is beating it.
7. Scoreboard Update | The LAJ also has an update on the scoreboard, which is that the video panels are starting to be installed.
