Odds and Ends
I'm back, just barely though. I actually got back from this weekend's outings around noon. Then my wife demanded that I do yard work for the next three hours or so. After than I passed out. It is tough to figure out where things are after a weekend away where I don't have internet access. Feel free to drop any links that I don't have.
Track and Field
I never know how to report or write about track and field stuff, but the Big 12 Championships were this weekend and men finished 3d and the women finished 6th. For the ladies, Cierra White won the 100m, which is pretty cool and for the men, Bryce Lamb won the long jump. The LAJ recaps the event.
The softball team was only able to salvage one of the three games, beating Baylor on Saturday.
From what I can tell, Texas Tech lost on Friday night, won on Saturday, and then lost on Sunday in the 9th inning despite an impressive pitching performance, 3-0. There is also a baseball game on Tuesday against Dallas Baptist at 3:00 pm. The LAJ and DT summarize Sunday's game.
Sam Harrell and Graham Harrell were inducted into the Texas High School Hall of Fame. This was totally off of my radar and had no idea that this was happening or it had slipped my mind. The LAJ and WacoTrib recap the event and the WacoTrib also had a story on the Harrells from April.
Good story from the Times Record on WR Eric Ward and his rational to stay for his senior year and getting his master's degree.
From the DMN, they talk with the newest commit, Derrick Neal, who has not talked to basketball coach Tubby Smith and committed to play football . . . for now. Would be interesting if he would be able to play both.
