Texas Tech Releases 2014 Football Schedule

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Spo

Texas Tech has released the 2014 football schedule with the first two conference games on the road and the Longhorns and the Sooners back-to-back in November.

Texas Tech has released the opponents and dates for the 2014 football schedule:

2014 Texas Tech Football Schedule
Aug. 30 - Central Arkansas
Sept. 6 - at UTEP
Sept. 13 - Arkansas
Sept. 20 - OPEN
Sept. 25 - at *Oklahoma State
Oct. 4 - at *Kansas State
Oct. 11 - *West Virginia
Oct. 18 - *Kansas
Oct. 25 - at *TCU
Nov. 1 - *Texas
Nov. 8 - OPEN
Nov. 15 - *Oklahoma
Nov. 22 - at *Iowa State
Nov. 29 - vs. *Baylor (Arlington, Texas)
Dec. 6 - OPEN

The * denotes a conference game (you probably knew that, but that's cool).  Maybe not such a back-loaded schedule next year with some tough opponents mixed throughout the schedule.

Texas Tech will play their first two conference opponents, Oklahoma St. and Kansas St. on the road, so that's going to be interesting and then has the next two games at home with West Virginia and Kansas.  I do like having an open weekend after Texas comes to town and between Oklahoma.  I do believe that this is the last game that will be played in Arlington with Baylor and the games will then switch to home-and-home in 2015.

After careful consideration, looks like 12-0 from here.
