Via blog friend FSSW's David Ubben, Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury said today that QB Baker Mayfield is not out for the year and that it is possible that he might practice today.
As usual, Kingsbury remained coy about who would start at quarterback, stating that he wasn't sure what Mayfield was going to be able to do. This is good news for a lot of Texas Tech fans who feared the worst when they saw Mayfield limp off the field late in the game against Kansas. It sure would be nice to have Mayfield available against Iowa St.

Mayfield may or may not practice TODAY. What a dodged bullet for Tech. That was a nasty hit. Looked like a serious knee injury.— David Ubben (@davidubben) October 7, 2013
