Texas Tech v. Oklahoma | Away Game Hotspots

Ford Model ATMO

Remember the last time we went to Norman? That worked out pretty well.

Leave it to SARR to hit the nail on the head, but isn't it fun to be a ball of nerves again? That West Virginia game had my stomach in knots. I can't help but be nervous and Gilbert-like this week.

But don't listen to me, Red Raiders. ATMO on Saturday and all will be well.

These recommendations for Norman come straight from oldschoolraider, blackbeard, and john20two. In the words of Capt. Woodrow F. Call, "Many thanks."

Norman, OK

Tiffany's (101 S 3rd St - Noble, OK)

This seems like the place to go for your comfort food: chicken fried steak, breakfast, etc.

Wes Welker's Sports Bar & Grill (3121 West Memorial Road - Oklahoma City, OK)

I don't have a first-hand account of anyone going to Welker's, but would like to see what other VTMers thought. This seems like a no-brainer to me. They have 83 different beers and you can support a fellow Red Raider.

Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse (7 S Mickey Mantle Dr - Oklahoma City, OK)

A bit pricey, but sometimes that's what it takes to get a good steak outside of your charcoal grill.

O'Connell's Irish Pub & Grille (769 Asp Avenue - Norman, OK)

These guys are within half a mile of the stadium, and they also have a good tailgating scene on game days.

McNellie's - The Abner Ale House (121 E. Main St. - Norman, OK)

McNellie's also has a location in Oklahoma City on 10th & Walker. They have a more than impressive beer list, including several within the state. Click here to be linked to a 3 page PDF showcasing their offerings for October. I hear good things about Prairie Artisan Ales.

RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:

Harrigan's (3827 50th St)

For no real reason, it had been almost a year since I was last at Harrigan's. We stopped in last week and really enjoyed ourselves. The prime rib was excellent as was their homemade horseradish sauce. They have brunch on Sundays, serving mimosas and breakfast favorites. Our service could not have been better; our waitress even sent us home with a loaf of bread and some of their tomato bisque soup.

What say you, VTMers?
