Well, we made it to 6-0 despite my inability to get behind the couch on third downs while driving the car. It's good to know that Tech can win without me, but it does sting a little.
This will be a copy/paste week for me. The recommendations for Morgantown were excellent and need to be posted in their entirety. Take it away, VTMers!
Texas Tech v. West Virginia - Morgantown
Thanks to RRaider5355's friend Jim for these great suggestions:
Places to eat and get a good beer in Morgantown, a response from my friend Jim.
It seems that new coach Kliff Kingsbury is building some excitement among Red Raider fans.
One restaurant that would likely fit your description is Mountain State Brewing Company, which is the place you visited in the Wharf District along the Monongahela River:
Mountain State Brewing Company
54 Clay St
Morgantown, WV 26501
(304) 241-1976Another good choice is Black Bear Burritos. It has two locations, but I would recommend the Evansdale restaurant:
Black Bear Burritos
3119 University Ave
Morgantown, WV 26505
(304) 777-4867I am also a fan of a new barbecue restaurant here in Morgantown, Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint:
Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint
368 Suncrest Towne Centre Dr
Morgantown, WV 26505
(304) 777-4227P.S. Three more considerations:
Arguably the best Italian in Morgantown is Puglioni’s:
Puglioni’s Pasta & Pizza
1137 Van Voorhis Rd #13
Morgantown, WV 26505
(304) 599-7521And if you are interested in some good home cookin’, you would want to visit Ruby & Ketchy’s:
Ruby & Ketchy’s Restaurant
2232 Cheat Rd
Morgantown, WV 26508
(304) 594-2004Finally, if you are looking for the best pizza in Morgantown, in my opinion you need only visit Pizza Al’s:
Pizza Al’s
2952 University Ave
Morgantown, WV 26505
(304) 599-4040
In 2008 i was working in Morgantown during the fall. I went to almost every WVU game that year. I even got to see them play Chris Todd and Auburn. I agree with the suggestions above especially Mountain State Brewing Co.Honestly anywhere in the downtown area is fun and a great place to bar hop hours before kickoff. From downtown you can take the small train cars that drop you off right at the stadium. I would suggest getting there a little early and walking around the tailgates. After the game it was great to see the entire stadium stay and sing Country Road by John Denver as loud as they could. Warning if you do wait to see that the line can be quite long to get back on the small train cars to get back. Def worth going to a game there!
We put together a visitor's guide for everyone last seasonstill appropriate and check out the suggestions in the comments as well
