Doege

I was at a wedding so I didn't get to watch the game. I watched it on youtube yesterday so I didn't get the full perspective, but my first thought after watching was that I thought Doege's boxscore was better than his actual play on the field. He looked fairly solid on his short-medium range throws, but it looked like his deep throws were consistently off and he was simply just throwing it up to his bigger receivers hoping for a play on the ball rather than accurately placing the ball where he wanted it. I'm all for going deep, but it would be nice to see good ball placement on those throws (ala GH to Robert Johnson against ATM 2006). I saw 3-4 passes that were tipped or almost tipped that probably would have been picked by Big 12 DB's. He just looked off to me, and it looked like he got away with a mediocre passing performance because of inferior opponents. Not to be a nay-sayer here, just wanted to see if anyone saw what I was seeing.

On a brighter note, the D is looking noticeably improved all the way around. Great to see lots of black helmets around the ball again.
