This is one of those strange times where I'm not sure what to type. One of SB Nation's writers for the Minnesota Timberwolves blog Canis Hoopis, Tim Allen, passed away at the incredibly young age of 29. I cannot tell you how much this saddens me and I questioned if I should even put anything here because or if anything else should be written because it is life and death and everything else is sorta noise.
I deal with death on an every-day basis as a probate attorney. Just last week I had to console a wife who had three minor children and she lost her husband at the age of 35. She didn't know what to do and I helped as much as I could. This morning I probated an estate for a gentleman who unexpectedly lost his twin brother. I am meeting a husband and wife this afternoon, the husband has terminal cancer and we have to work out their estate planning.
It is overwhelming and sad for my clients. If I think about it too long, it is overwhelming and sad for me too. Maybe that's why I spend so much time here. I do my best to keep a straight face and work through situations because that is what I do, or maybe because I don't know what else to do. It gets me thinking about my own mortality and that can be a difficult thing to work through those machinations.
If you can, think a good thought for Tim and his family.
