Credit Red Raider Sports for being the first (but now it is sorta out on Twitter, here and here) to break that Fort Bend Marshall (Missouri City, TX) offensive tackle Maurice Porter (6-5/285) has committed to Texas Tech. Porter is generally seen as a 3-star player (Rivals | Scout | ESPN | 24/7 Sports). I haven't had time to watch the video so I'll wait to provide some analysis later, but Porter also had offers from Baylor, West Virginia, Texas A&M, Oklahoma St. and Colorado to name a few. Obviously, he was highly thought of by a handful of programs and had at least nine offers. Let's just say that I'm very pleased that Texas Tech has another offensive line commit.
As an aside, Ford Bend Marshall is also the high school of RB DeAndre Washington. Here's some video of Porter:
