SOFTBALL | I missed this from a couple of days ago, but congrats to the softball team for receiving votes at the end of the season leaving this team a top 30 team in the country.

MEN'S BASKETBALL | The men's basketball teleconference yesterday, but as of 4:45 am, the Big 12 website is down and I can't listen to the audio. Oh well. Thankfully, LAJ's Nick Kosmider has a recap and somewhat like last year, head coach Billy Gillispie is heaping a lot of praise on his returning players and singled out F Jaye Crockett:

"He used to want to be one of the guys," Gillispie said. "Now he wants to be the guy. I think he wants to lead others with him. When you don’t have as much success as you want, and Jaye’s used to winning, I think he figures out, ‘Hey, this is what we need to do and this is my responsibility.’ I think he has really stepped to the forefront as far as taking a leadership role."

Kosmider also touched on F Wannah Bail's performance at the Texas vs. Oklahoma game played recently where Bail scored 24 for the game. I also appreciated how Kosmider responded to some of the comments in this article so that's pretty cool.

FOOTBALL | AthlonSports predicts the Big 12 finish and it's not looking good for our beloved Red Raiders. Thankfully, these are just predictions.
