The "Title IX" 40th Anniversary Documentary will air on ESPN2 at Noon (ET) on June 23, 2012 The documentary is called "Sporting Chance" and not only will feature the athletic doors that were opened for women but also the educational opportunities that had also been denied. I did not know that aspect of Title IX. I did not realize that some educational institutions were male only even in the 1970’s. I always thought it only covered sports. I know there are many that do not like Title IX but I for one think it was a good thing. Maybe it stems from my roots. My Dad always talked about the strides my female relatives took, like my Great-Aunt Catherine being one of the first women in Massachusetts to get a driver’s license.
