ODDS AND ENDS | GQ's Lang Whitaker with an oral history of the 1992 Dream Team.
Totally Texas Tech's TTURed with some new campus photos.
GOLF | Congrats to Gabby Dominguez and Kim Kaufman for being named honorable mention All-American for Golfweek Magazine.
BASEBALL | LAJ's George Watson details all of the players who are either graduating or who signs professional contracts. Let's just say that there's not much left in the infield. Watson also writes about how Oklahoma St. just hired the head coach at Oral Roberts to be the pitching coach, notes that new head coach Tim Tadlock needs to get his assistants hired quickly and OSU has made a significant splash.
MEN'S BASKETBALL | LAJ's Nick Kosmider writes that the new summer rules should benefit Texas Tech as the coaching staff is now permitted to coach the players for two hours a week during the summer so long as the player is enrolled in summer school. PF Jordan Tolbert said there is more talent and had this to say about the incoming freshmen:
"Everybody is excited," Tolbert said. "The freshmen are real eager to work out and all that stuff. I’m trying to tell them to calm down. They think they’re ready for it, but they don’t know what they’re stepping into. I just try to do my best to lead them and get them ready for the season."
FOOTBALL | Rivals Mike Huguenin writes about the top six BCS teams that are going on the road (i.e. OU is traveling to UTEP, Baylor is traveling to Louisiana-Monroe) and if Texas Tech were to lose, it would have the second highest "embarrassment factor". I would agree, can't even think about losing.
