Investors' new suit offers new claims about Tuberville's connection to failed hedge funds
The new, 52-page, complaint includes allegations that:
■ Tuberville recruited potential investors in Lubbock after coming to Texas Tech in January 2010. After making the initial solicitation, the suit says, Tuberville would give the prospective investor’s name to a fund employee for follow-up.
■ Tuberville suggested that John C. Owens of Lubbock invest with Stroud. Stroud came to Lubbock for a Texas Tech football game and met with Owens in a corporate suite at Jones AT&T Stadium; Owens invested $50,000 with the TS Fund. Attempts to reach Owens by telephone were unsuccessful on Monday.
Folks here know my views, so I won't add anything else, except to say, innocent until proven guilty.
