PG Josh Gray Chooses Texas Tech?

This is one of those times that I'm making a leap in logic, but maybe that's okay. Yesterday evening, Houston Wheatley PG Josh Gray tweeted the following:

What we learned last week was that Gray was down to Texas Tech and Kansas St. I'd also like to point out that Gray changed his profile pic to the photo to the right, which is a screen-shot from a RRS.com article that most likely talks about how Gillispie wanted him to be the "face of the program". And just to catch you up a bit on Gray's history, he originally committed to and signed a letter of intent with Mississippi St. and when their coach was terminated, they let him out of his LOI. Thus, Gray opened up his commitment somewhat late in the game.

So head coach Billy Gillispie has added three top 150 players in this year's class and I don't think that's getting enough play. F Aaron Ross was a top 150 player in 2011 at #143, F Wannah Bail is a top 150 player from the 2012 class at #115 and if the addition of Gray is accurate, then you can Gray to that list as well at #107.

This is a huge commitment for Gillispie as he now has his point guard of the future and if my numbers are correct, in addition to Gray, you can add PG Daylen Robinson, who will be a junior next year, and PG/SG Trency Jackson as point guard options on this team in addition to Gray.

I'll be doing a profile of Gray, most likely tomorrow, but you can check out his Rivals, Scout, ESPN and 24/7 Sports profiles at those links.

Per MaxPreps, this this was Gray's stat-line for his Wheatley team this past year:

23.8 PPG | 5.9 APG | 3.3 RPG | 2.9 SP

And if you wanted to know just how special Gray is, then I need to point you no further than this YouTube video:
