Texas Tech Softball | Red Raiders Take Two of Three from #9 Missouri

Stay connected for news and updates

This is pretty big and thought it deserved it's own post. The softball team took the first game of the three game series on Friday night with a 2-0 win, and then took the second game yesterday afternoon, 5-4 (official site) behind a Cydney Allen 3-run home run and another win for Cara Custer. Missouri ended up salvaging series with a win in the third game, 1-4 (official site). Custer took the loss, but I'll take a split with a particular pitcher on a Saturday with the No. 9 team in the country any series. Here's head coach Shanon Hays, a bit disappointed, but overall very happy to take the series:

"No question we would have liked to get the sweep today," Tech head coach Shanon Hays said. "Anytime you go on the road in our conference and take two, that's a good weekend and I was proud of how our team competed against a very good Missouri team. We had a chance to win that last one but left too many runners on late and that doesn't win you many ballgames."

Congrats Ladies!
