Big 12 Tournament Predictions

Kansas vs. Baylor| Friday, March 9th. Baylor is a team that has gone for 4 wins and 5 losses against top 25 teams this season. Kansas has 9 wins and 3 losses to top 25 teams, and has beat Baylor both times this season. The first win was by 18 and the second win was by 14 points. I have said before I think Baylor has the best talent in the Big 12, but they just don’t seem to be able to put it together for the big time wins (losing all their Big 12 games against KU and Missouri). Maybe they are different when it comes to tournaments, as they were the Las Vegas Classic Tournament champions earlier in this season. Kansas on the other hand seems all put together, and has the overall best player in the Big 12 on the floor in Thomas Robinson. We will see if this one is a great game and Baylor can be pumped up to get their chemistry together in tournament situations. Based on watching these 2 teams all season I just have to go with the feeling that KU wins this one by a few.

Missouri vs. Texas| Friday, March 9th. I still can’t believe UT knocked off Iowa State yesterday; ISU just seemed to roll over and die during the end of the game. I do not think UT is a great team, and I don’t think that even if they do make it to the Big Dance they will go any farther than maybe the 2nd round. Missouri on the other hand is a pick of mine to get to the Final Four. Missouri won by 11 the first game they played UT this season, but the second game was in Austin and they won by 1 point. In that 1 point win Missouri’s Michael Dixon was whistled for a flagrant foul with less than a minute to go for an elbow to the head of a UT player, yes it was a rough game. This should be a tough battle tonight, but I think Missouri has their eyes on the trophy and will get the victory in this one. I just don’t think UT can pull off this upset.
