Texas Tech football coach Tommy Tuberville said Thursday he is more confident than ever the Red Raiders will re-emerge as a contender in the Big 12 under his leadership. Yet, he knows his proclamations alone will not be enough to silence a loud faction of Tech fans and alumni still raging over the dismissal of former coach Mike Leach. "As coaches, we have a job to do," Tuberville said before the start of an alumni function at Gilley's. "I have no dog in that fight.... I'm here now, and I have a job to do. We have to go out and recruit and coach and do the best we can."
