Kansas State - EPIC No - but KSU is going to the National Championship and Texas Tech is the real deal!

Kansas State - EPIC No - but probably more of a confirmation of KSU than any negative reflection on number 18th ranked Texas Tech. KSU is going to the National Championship and Texas Tech is the real deal!

On any given Saturday its possible and more so for some than others. Right? ....and my eyes didn't lie to me either. Tech was certainly capable but we've all shot ourselves in the foot, it's just that Klein and company were so very much their mechanical methodical selves taking first blows and punches digesting them awaiting the many opportunities that followed. Regardless, damn good coach damn good team that I'm hoping run the table. Exact words can be said for our Raiders - damn good coach damn good team that I'm hoping run the table. This season is and will be remembered as our turning point.

Next up - better days ahead!

And its gonna start with the real Texas shoot out - this one is for the State Championship. In some ways this counts a lot more. (And yes while Baylor could make a highly unlikely claim in November, they are just an asterisk here and we all know it!) This one is close to home right up there with taking care of little brother and don't call my sister names. You know state bragging rights in the only state that counts, the best barbecue, the #1 chili, the best chicken fried steak or blue ribbon pecan pie in the Lone Star. Yes the only game that really counts around the holiday dinner tables, cousin Jeb, aunt Polly, and for grandpa. The one game that will be paid attention to in all Texas high school locker rooms, porches and bar rooms. As grandpa says, "You damn straight it will!" And it will be served up to no longer remotely relevant atm fans and alumni staring as envious spectators of a football scape they once occupied, always cried about and will now always long for. All cast aside for another crown none here care for nor bother about. Ahhh :) ...such poetic justice. And yes this wont be for a national run but perhaps for the area crop namesake bowl a 10-2 Red Raider champion deserves. I can't think of a more fitting appointment for our Red Raiders licking their wounds coming off the KSU field than to pick up our spurs and take out our biggest rival. You heard that right atm I did say biggest "rival"! He'll yes I did and Texas knows it, doesn't want to think about it and fears it! Cuz we are no longer the little brother here either...from Crabtree to Doege, From Leach to Tubberville and all before and in between the road to anything in this great state will ALWAYS come through Lubbock. And as we all know the star in the flag! Yes OSU will be tough and Baylor won't be a walk around the fence, but I just can't wait to cook me up some bevo look grandpa in the eye and tell him this year wasn't all in vain by any stretch. This year we'll take home the Texas Trophy, this year we'll lay claim from El Paso to Beaumont from Dalhart to Brownsville. Yes grandpa this year will be ours it will belong to our West Texas roots our rugged constitution our red and black heritage. Grandpa have a seat with me this Saturday and help me throw out some tortillas - these Red Raiders are the real deal!
