Lady Raiders Indoor Soccer Facility is open for business

Tech opened the Texas Tech Soccer program’s Indoor Training Facility. The official name is the Gerald Myers Indoor Soccer Facility.

The building was built over the existing Field Turf practice field at the John Walker Soccer Complex. The facility will allow the soccer team to train year-round since it is climate controlled and designed specifically for soccer.

"The building of this facility shows the unparalleled commitment Texas Tech has for women's soccer," head soccer coach Tom Stone said. "It is a phenomenal facility for our team and continues to display the immense growth of our program."

Just a reminder, the Lady Raiders play their final regular season game against the OSU Cowgirls on Friday, Oct 26, 2012 and the game is being nationally televised on Fox Soccer (NSCAA College Game of the Week) at 7pm CST.

"We are very honored and excited to host the NSCAA Game of the Week," head coach Tom Stone said. "This is a chance to show to the country our great university, our soccer program and our great fan base. The environment at the John Walker Soccer Complex is truly one of the best in the nation, and I think that will be showcased Friday night."

Next week the Big12 tournament starts in San Antonio, TX. Texas Tech is in first place in the overall record at (13-4-1) but sits in the 3rd spot in the Big12 play at 4-2-1 behind WV and Baylor.

I know we are all concentrating on the “football” game this week against K-State but if you get a chance cheer on the Lady Raiders as they play “futbol” against the OSU Cowgirls. These players have had an incredible season and Coach Stone and his staff are to be commended for their continued improvement and building of the soccer program.

Go Tech !!!

Wreck'Em !!!
