Does anyone else think that the attempt to create a new tradition will end up being a bad idea? First, new tradition is a bit of an oxymoron. All the best traditions start simply and organically,
then get embraced and repeated over and over for years to eventually become tradition without being forced. Second, if it's going to be a song it must be one that illicits a strong emotional response AND is intrinsically linked to the team. It can't just be the same songs played at every sporting event in the country and please dear God not the trendy new one hit wonder's club song. The two best examples I can think of are from the NHL. The Carolina Hurricanes blast "Rock you like a hurricane" and the Dallas Stars have a song written exclusively for them by Pantera. Both pump up the players and fans, and can't be effectively used by any other teams. Are there any such songs out there that would be effective for Tech? Third, why take away from the Goin' Band from Raiderland? I've been listening to their music since training camp opened and I'm getting plenty psyched up for the season.
