I know, I know. Still bitter about our 5-7 season. Good news. Remember when Tuberville said he wanted to focus on high schoolers and would not dip deep into the JUCO world. Well, I think he realized in an effort to save his @$$ he better get kids that can help immediately. He signed 10 today, including some studs like Javon Bell (WR) and Kass Everett (CB). Everett was highly recruited by OU and Big Game Bob. It came down to playing time. Also signed 3 very good high schoolers at mid-term.
This is a step in the right direction to stop the bleeding and do feel some of these will make the starting lineup and be put in a position to make an impact. However, we should not have HUGE expectations that these players will make a major impact tomorrow. In short, let's not hype these players up. They will make bigger waves in 2013. I think we loved what Mackey could bring to the table and we set (in our minds) huge expectations, but I believe he will be a great player for us next season. It does stink that he got hurt in the first game. But I don't think he ever made the impact I think we all hoped he would on the field.
What is comical though is the attached link, found on SB Nation. The OU world is literally stunned that we beat them out for Everett.
