DTN Happy Hour, Raider Ruckus, Tailgating/Game Watching & possible mischief making this weekend in Austin

Any DTNers in Austin Friday & Saturday you have three TWO - COUNT THEM THREE TWO - opportunities to meet some fellow DTNers, hang out with Red Raiders & get fired up to kick some Longhorn butt!

We didn't end up with a quorum given the early start time so instead to build the anticipation of meeting your fellow DTNers by having to wait until the Raider Ruckus or TTU Alum tailgate tomorrow morning!

It may be harder for folks to find each other tonight.  Tomorrow I'll have something DTN and/or Austin related with me to make it easy to find each other.  I'll also have access to my email if you have any questions (dfarmer@austin.rr.com).

First, a few of us will be at the Mean-Eyed Cat at 1621 West 5th Street (512-472-6326) from 5pm to 7pm on Friday:  

Btech, Ibleedredandblack & I will be there & hope to see a few others!  The Mean-Eyed Cat is a great dive bar in Austin (picture below).  It’s across the street from El Arroyo on West 5th Street, close to MoPac.  They have their own parking lot (important in Austin).  When you enter you’ll see the bar, get a drink & head to the back patio where the picnic tables are.  I’ll make sure there is something with Texas Tech on it at the table.

Next is Raider Ruckus from 7pm to 10pm, details below:

Featuring: The Luke Olson Band (Tech Alumnus)  
Raffle prizes, appearances by Raider Red and the Texas Tech Cheerleaders
Tickets (includes food!): $10 in advance or $15 at the door
Purchase your advance tickets online by 12pm this Friday at www.AustinTTU.com
This will be THE place to be if you're a Red Raider in Austin on Friday evening. 

Finally, the Austin Tech Alumni Association Tailgate / Game Watching Saturday from 9:00am to end of game:

15th St, between Trinity & San Jacinto (only blocks from Darrell K Royal Stadium)
Party starts at 9:00am, game kickoff is 11:00am but we’ll have TV’s and a great sound system to watch the game if you don’t have game tickets. Please bring your own chair.  
Plenty of beer on hand for donations to Austin Alumni Chapter Scholarship fund.

We'll need to figure out some way to identify ourselves as DTNers at Raider Ruckus & the tailgate - it will be easier at the tailgate.  Maybe we should take a page out of SARR's book & all wear some kind of donkey accessory....suggestions welcome!
