First off, I want to say that I’m a big fan of yours. As a kid, my grandfather taught me to root for underdogs. We would always enjoy seeing a hard working football team win against a polished favorite.

Those of us in the cheap seats admire your enthusiasm and dedication to the team. We believe in your abilities and we don’t care if you wear your emotions on your sleeve. Your passion is contagious and we hope it continues when your playing days are over.     

We don’t know why you entered the UT game or the reason why you left- local media cannot ask such an honest question to a new coach who they must suck up to so they can keep their jobs. We too are hurt that the staff advised us all that you are a fine QB and capable of leading this team, only to see them pull you out of this game without backing THEIR words with action.   

You will always remain a favorite of ours no matter what the future may bring, that #1 jersey will always be yours in our eyes.
