First off, I'd like to formally announce that Texas are a bunch of bleach blonde, drive daddy's porsche to school, tea sipping, arrogant, but talented bullies. Or as I like to call them, d-bags with teabags. With that off my chest;
Next I'd like to state that even if the Big 12 - 2 falls apart in 2-4 years, the Aggies will likely still want to go to the SEC anyway, leaving us a space to go to the PAC-12.
Now why I'm excited:
The Big 12 - 2, while smaller and without Nebraska, should be the strongest, densest most difficult conference in the country in both football AND basketball; barring a move by the SEC, the Big 10 + 2 or the Pac 12 (assuming they add Utah and stop).
Lets just take a deep breathe and look at what this is real quick
The Big 12-2 (in alphabetic order)
Texas Tech-Stillwater...Xerox U...Okie Lite...what was their real name again?
Yes we lost a resurgent Nebraska, but playing 9 conference games a year in this division, going undefeated will still guarantee a NC spot. Despite my hate for mizzou and all they ahve done to this conference, there is no denying Gary Pinkel is a great coach, and Turner Gill in Kansas is definitely on the up. I tell you what, winning all 9 games in this conference WILL be harder then winning 8 games in the SEC.
Basketball will unequivocally be the densest conference of strength, as NU and CU were our two of our WORST basketball programs. Playing the Kansas's twice a year is not something anybody in the world would look forward to .
All in all, the horns will have a strong balance of power, but you know what? That will just make it all the sweeter when we start our new tradition of dominating the horns!
