According to the article, after openly campaigning for the job, Mike Leach was passed over for the Minn Gophers HC job. This was the team that fired it's head coach after Leach orchestrated the biggest come back in bowl history against them. This represents yet another disappointment in the aggresive job hunt for Coach Leach going back to 2004, and is no doubt puzzling to him given the fact that he quote "revolutionized football". It's highly likely that coach will use these repeated denials to support his claim that his firing from tech has illegally harmed his ability to find gainfull employment. However, this may be difficult to prove given his inability to secure a better job in his many attempts while he was still employed at Texas Tech.
