First keeping Ruffin is in no way a guarantee that any previously commited recruits will keep their commitment , every recruiter in the nation is killing us with all of our own press , and dirt is a recruiters dream ! Second no Head Coach is going to take the Tech job and make any commitment to keep anyone on the current staff , they may well keep some but they are stupid to make that commitment with their job on the line down the road ,( unless their Wade Phillips and Jerry Jones has already hired someone ) !! Third , after 1 year Leach will get a new Gig and raid your staff anyway so you might as well retool now ! College Football is a business keeping Ruffin, or anybody else, so that you can hold on to the Leach era is probably not going to work in the long run ! Tech is a successful program in a top flight conference and should explore all options, your going to lose recruits regardless , look to the future ! Tuberville scrapped the spread offense the first year he tried it and Donny Anderson graduated so he is out ! Ruffin appears to be a good Coordinator and has a good relationship with the players but can he take Tech to the next level ?? Sonny Dykes he has a name what else ? Kevin Sumlin well he started strong faded fast and did most of it courtesy of Art Briles ! Art Briles great fit , great relationship with Texas High School Coaches , former Tech etc. only one problem he is only 2 years into his deal with Baylor and has a pretty good QB coming back ! Anthony Lynn nice pro coach we paying our players ? Larry Fidora seems to have some good things going for him I bet OK State wishes he was back as their O coordinator !! I do not have a solution but do know Dana Hogerson and Kliff Kingsbury are at UH and they know the Tech Offense ,where they fit I do not know but Bill Belichek kept Kliff around for 3 years as a 3rd string QB just to break down film, he is smart and son of a coach and hopefully with experience a head coach in Lubbock !
