Double-T Nation Daily Diatribe :: 09.07.09

Odds and Ends

  Happy Labor Day:  I slept a little late this morning, which is why the DTN DD is a tad tardy.  Enjoy your day.  We're still on the same schedule of posts and events so even if you're at home, check back with DTN throughout the morning.  I should also mention that because of the holiday, there's not much out there this morning from the newspapers.

Texas Tech Football

  More on UND vs. TT:  Just want to post a couple of more follow-up articles from the game, including DT's Adam Coleman on Texas Tech's win . . . Ryan Hyatt on TWAHS.com hopes (like the rest of us I think) that Texas Tech greatly improves against Rice, mainly the guys up front on the offensive line . . .  Brian Jensen of TBB.com says not to over-react, it's a win, albeit an ugly win . . . LAJ's Don Williams recaps Saturday's win as well, with the addition that RT Marlon Winn practiced on Sunday and should be ready for Rice . . .

  Rice Links:  Rice struggled mightily against the UAB Dragons and the Owls had a tough time containing the UAB dual-thread quarterback who passed for 221 yards and ran for 189.  And looking from some of the bloggy notes on the Chron Rice blog, that the QB situation is not resolved, which means that Texas Tech will see Nick Fanuzzi and J. T. Shepherd.  Also check out Ricefootball.net's recap of Saturday's loss.
