DTN's Community Projections
The Facts:
Brian Duncan finished last year with 94 tackles (61 solo and 33 assisted) which led the team by almost 20. Duncan is not really a tackle-for-loss guy as he plays middle linebacker, but he did have 5 last year, but did not include a sack. Surprisingly, Duncan had 6 pass break-ups and 1 forced fumble for 2008.
What I Think:
I'm a little torn here. I think that Duncan is, by far, the best linebacker Texas Tech has on it's squad, but I also think that Sam Fehoko could eat into Duncan's playing time a bit (perhaps he should get a little more time to give Fehoko some experience). Although that's something that I wouldn't mind seeing, I get the feeling that Ruffin McNeill trusts Duncan imiplicitly and as a result, you'll see Duncan quite a bit at MLB.
