Conspiracy Theory.... Leach already gone?

So I am one for a conspiracy theory and I have one of my own.  I have been trying to wrap my head around this current Leach situation and I keep coming to odd ends.  Now this is entirely my conjecture, I want to see if I'm the only guy who thinks this possible.

What if the Administration has caught wind that Leach already has intentions to leave, these intentions not to be revealed until after the Bowl game.  If this were the case I see why the University would act so quickly as to avoid bonuses payable to Leach upon completion of bowl game and completion of the year(surplus of $800,000 I believe.)

I come to this conspiracy theory on the premise that money moves all.

The University and it officials would not move so rashly  without thinking of the negative implications associated with the loss of coach Leach .  Say what you will, Leach has taken Texas Tech to another level of competitive play and that translates to higher revenues.  Jones Stadium has undertaken a notable overhaul and empty seats will not suffice.  Recruiting has reached a level not yet seen.  If leach is pulled, our program takes an immediate 3 steps back.

I'm sure the university is fully aware that Tech is on the brink of being a top level football program and would not jeopardize all that for the sake of Adam James.

Which brings me to the conclusion that they know something we don't and are attempting to cut its losses.

I don't know if this is worth contemplating.  There are times my imagination gets away with its self.   I just find it hard to believe that our Administration would be so inept to unravel a program in progress for such small potatoes.
