Former defensive tackle and Red Raider Stoney Garland passed away yesterday after a 10 year struggle with the injuries from an auto accident that happened Garland's junior year at Texas Tech. Here's a story from the LAJ from 2001 regarding Garland using his circumstances to teach others of his choices. A sad story all the way around, but it sounds like Garland made the absolute best of a bad situation. Thoughts and prayers go out to Garland and his family.
