Gauntlet fodder

Ok, so everyone is talking about how hard it will be for tech to run the gauntlet. But what most UT fans and others I've read from don't realize is...

Although we play four games in a row against ranked opponents...

IT'S NOT FOUR WEEKS IN A ROW

we get by OSU and then we get a bye to week to get our fresh legs back, UT didn't have that luxury. we will have more than enough time to get mentally and physically prepared for OU. Our first bye week sure did seem to prepare us beautifully for KSU. Of course, once Texas fans realize this, they will probably start arguing that our stretch was even easier than theirs after switching MIzzou for KU, where they still get to play. Players are asked every week to get prepared for whatever opponent.
And anyways, when did college players start being expected to be more tired after a stretch like that than before...does everyone just assume that the players aren't trying that hard against inferior opponents? Likely...but after watching the last 5 weeks of Big XII ball, our effort just has not seemed to waver. Thank goodness for so much depth up front on the DLine.
